It`s a good question especially after government have changed official name of Canadian army from Maritime Command and Air Command to Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force. In my personal opinion it is not only re-branding. Air Forces and army in general should be taken back under the authority of Her Majesty. Why? Because military should be as far from politics as it is possible. Should be objective and by this should be able to protect people better. It is not only my opinion. More than 6000 of Canadian old and young veterans singed appeal calling Canadian government to restore the royal Honour. Petition was only one of many actions taken to celebrate a diamond jubilee of Queen which will take place next year. The more is a good idea that it brings as back to the roots as the official name Royal Canadian Navy and Air Force was changed in 1968 as a part of process of improving military`s efficiency established by Canadian Forces Reorganization Act. As we can see now maybe it was unnecessary if we now revere it back as it was. To sum up I think it is a good strategy and lets keep that direction.
