Air Canada against cigarettes on board
According to regulations of Canadian Airlines smoking is strictly prohibited. Canadian flight operator was firs airline which forbidden of using cigarettes on board of planes. It was on 7th December 1987. Decision was an outcome of many incidents which takes place in several planes during few years in the past. One of most spectacular examples of such fire on board was fire of the rear toilet on the cruise at FL 330. Air Canada 797 had 41 passengers on board on a flight from Dallas to Toronto and through to Montreal. Fire was initiated by passenger who thrown cigarette ember to the bin. In the past it was not so obvious decision to make. Nowadays global approach towards cigarettes is very crude. Some rescue for smokers was inventing an electronic cigarettes which you can take with you on board of Air Canada. Unfortunately it is very likely that even those cigarettes will be forbidden in near future. Such assertion is all the more justified as recently according to reports Smoking of electronic cigarettes is to be outlawed on United States planes. As we can assume more and more airlines will introduce such a ban. It looks like hard times for smokers are coming
